Who is Chatta Lumen?

Our virtual lamp designer. She knows our full fabric range, shapes and prices, and looks after your order from the first sketch to the invoice. We then make the light ourselves, in the Czech Republic.

How much does a made-to-measure light cost?

Pendant lights start at CZK 1,990, ceiling lights at CZK 2,190, lampshades at CZK 990 and cushions at CZK 790, all including VAT. Chatta Lumen will give you an exact price for your size and fabric in the chat.

How long does it take, and where do you deliver?

Lead time is usually 3 to 8 weeks, depending on the materials. We deliver free of charge by courier to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

How do I pay?

Once you approve the design, you'll receive an invoice in the chat. Payment is upfront, by bank transfer or card. For orders over CZK 100,000 we take a 70% deposit, with the balance due before shipping. Production starts once payment has been received.

How do I choose the right diameter?

Over a dining table, a shade about a third narrower than the table works well. Send us a photo and your room dimensions, and Chatta Lumen will suggest a size and show it in a visualisation.

Can I see the fabric before ordering?

Yes. We send the samples you choose free of charge by DPD, within 24 hours. Just ask in the chat.

Can the inside of the shade be different from the outside?

Yes. You choose a fabric for the outside and either a pale foil or a wallpaper for the lining, a floral one for example. Chatta Lumen will show you the combination in a visualisation.

Can you use my own fabric?

Yes. Send us a photo and the fabric composition. We'll check it's suitable for a lampshade and arrange how to get it to us.

I already have a lamp. Can you make just the shade?

Yes. Send a photo of the lamp and the dimensions of the base, and we'll make a shade to fit.

Do pendant lights come complete, or is it just the shade?

Pendant lights come complete with a fabric cable, ceiling rose and lamp holder, with metal parts in black, white, gold, brass, chrome or silver. Ceiling lights come with a mounting plate. Lampshades are supplied as the shade only, to fit your own base.

What bulb should I use?

We recommend an E27 LED bulb in warm white (2700 to 3000 K). Avoid incandescent and halogen bulbs, which heat the fabric unnecessarily.

How is it installed? Do I need an electrician?

Pendant and ceiling lights connect to the ceiling outlet like any standard light. If you're not experienced with electrical work, have an electrician fit it. A lampshade simply goes onto your lamp.

How do I clean the fabric?

Remove dust with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment. Don't wet-clean velvet. Cushion covers are removable and machine washable at 30 °C.

Can I use a fabric light in a kitchen or bathroom?

In a kitchen, yes: over a dining table or island, but not directly above the hob. We don't recommend fabric lights in bathrooms because of the humidity.

What's the warranty?

We're liable for defects for two years from delivery. To make a claim, just send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll resolve it within 30 days.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, free of charge until production starts. After that, we only charge the costs already incurred, mainly any fabric we've bought for you. As every piece is made to order, the 14-day cooling-off period doesn't apply.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, for any amount. We email it as a PDF, and the recipient then chooses their fabric and shape with Chatta Lumen.

1. Who we are

2. What we sell

We make fabric pendant and ceiling lights, lampshades and cushions to order, according to the customer's specification: the customer chooses the shape, size, outer fabric, the lining of the shade (foil or wallpaper) and other parameters. Every product is made only after an order is placed. Photographs and visualisations on the website and in the chat are illustrative; the actual shade of a fabric may differ slightly from what you see on a screen, so we recommend requesting samples.

3. How ordering works

We take orders via WhatsApp on +420 722 629 596. The conversation is handled by Chatta Lumen, our digital assistant (an automated system using artificial intelligence), who helps you choose the product, fabric and size, prepares a visualisation of the light and summarises the order. You can ask to speak to a member of our team at any time.

Before you confirm, you receive a summary: product description, dimensions, materials, price including VAT, delivery time and payment method. The contract is concluded when you expressly confirm the summary in the chat and we accept it. Until then, the conversation is non‑binding.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are stated in CZK including VAT. Delivery to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland is free of charge. The price is payable in full in advance on the basis of an invoice sent to you in the chat or by e‑mail; you can pay by bank transfer or by card. For orders over CZK 100,000 you pay a 70% deposit before production starts and the remaining 30% before shipping. Production starts once the payment (or deposit) has been received.

5. Delivery time and shipping

Production usually takes 3 to 8 weeks depending on the chosen materials; the specific time is stated in the order summary. If it should take longer (for example because of fabric availability), we will let you know and agree on a solution. The finished product is shipped by courier to the address you provide. Please inspect the parcel on delivery and report any visible damage to the courier and to us.

6. Made‑to‑order goods and withdrawal

Our products are goods made to the customer's specification and personalised. Under Section 1837(d) of the Czech Civil Code (implementing Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU), a consumer therefore cannot withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. An order can be cancelled free of charge until production starts; after that we may charge the costs already incurred (in particular the price of fabric purchased).

If you withdraw from the contract or cancel your order, we will refund the payment received (less any costs already incurred) within 30 days of the withdrawal, using the same payment method you used unless we agree otherwise.

7. Fabric samples

We send fabric samples free of charge by DPD courier, dispatched within 24 hours of your request. Samples are small cuttings intended for assessing the colour and texture of the material.

8. Defects and warranty

We are liable for defects present at the time of delivery in accordance with the Czech Civil Code; a consumer may claim a defect that appears within two years of delivery. Normal wear, damage caused by improper use (for example an unsuitable light source, moisture or mechanical damage) and a difference in fabric shade compared with a screen are not defects. To make a claim, contact us on WhatsApp or by e‑mail with a description and a photo of the defect; we settle claims within 30 days. Depending on the nature of the defect, we repair or replace the product or refund the price.

9. Using the product

Fabric shades are intended for indoor use. Use only light sources with the wattage and fitting stated for the specific product (we recommend LED). Have pendant and ceiling lights installed by a suitably qualified person.

10. Disputes

We aim to resolve any dispute by agreement. Consumers may use out‑of‑court dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz) or the EU ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). The contract is governed by the law of the Czech Republic; mandatory consumer protection rules of the customer's country of residence remain unaffected.

12. Final provisions

These terms apply to orders concluded from the effective date above. Changes will be published on this website; orders already confirmed are governed by the terms in force at the time of confirmation.

What data we process

  • Identification and contact data: name, phone number (WhatsApp), e‑mail, delivery and billing address.
  • Content of the conversation: messages, photos and dimensions of your interior or lamp that you send us for the purpose of design and production.
  • Order and payment data: product specification, price, invoices, order history.
  • Technical data when visiting the website: the site does not use tracking cookies or third‑party analytics.

Why and on what legal basis

  • Preparing a design, visualisation and handling the order: performance of a contract or steps prior to it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Invoicing and accounting: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Handling claims and protecting our rights: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Sending offers to existing customers: legitimate interest; you can object at any time.

Chatta Lumen and automated processing

The WhatsApp conversation is handled by our digital assistant Chatta Lumen, an automated system that uses artificial‑intelligence services. Your messages and photos are processed in order to design the product and create visualisations. Decisions with legal effects (for example on a claim) are always made by a person. You can ask for a member of the Chatta team to take over the conversation at any time.

Who we share data with

  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) as the operator of the messaging platform.
  • AI and cloud service providers we use to run Chatta Lumen and create visualisations: OpenAI (language model) and Higgsfield (visualisations).
  • DPD courier for delivering parcels and samples, accounting and invoicing services, the payment gateway provider and our bank.

Some providers may process data outside the EU; in that case we rely on standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep data

Conversations and order documents are kept for the duration of the warranty and limitation periods, at most 3 years from delivery. Accounting documents are kept for 10 years as required by law. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted within 12 months.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz) or the supervisory authority in your country. We respond to requests within 30 days.
